safely back in london.
had a good last couple days in istabul where people i knew kept randomly checking into my 4 bedroom dorm in the hostel.
flew into london, which was uneventful, and stayed a couple nights with some people i met on a cruise in turkey. they were a couple of kiwi girls who work in london now. we went out with a bunch of their friends to medicine bar which was sooooo much fun. i had to explain to one of them, who may visit, that it's simply impossible to find a bar that good in seattle. it's a very depressing thought.
then on saturday i headed up to oxford where i crashed at mark and eloise's and we went out to college bop, which is just a student party. the bop was distinctly oxford, populated with people in bowties and built 6 foot 5 guys with crewcuts (as alex observed "spot the americans here on a rowing scholarship"). this morning had my first taste of black pudding, which is a sausage made from pig's blood and fat. it wasn't as disgusting as it sounds.
the weather here is complete shit and i'm very afraid i'm looking at what the next 6 months are going to be like in seattle.

1 Comments:
